Our dining options are supervised by the renowned Michelin starred Kyoto restaurant Tominokoji Yamagishi, which opened in 2015. Upholding the traditions of Kyoto cuisine and the spirit of ‘Cha-kaiseki’ hospitality dear, we offer a down-to-earth service and refined cuisine that makes full use of Hakone's abundant natural bounty.

Yamagishi Takahiro, Tominokoji Yamagishi
Born in Kyoto in 1975, as the son of a fishmonger, Yamagishi Takahiro grew up surrounded by cuisine. After training to become a sushi chef at Nanae Sushi, he deepened his knowledge of ingredients at the Kyoto City Central Wholesale Market and discovered Kaiseki cuisine. After studying at famous restaurants such as Tankuma Kita and Kyoto Ichinoden, he established his own restaurant, Tominokoji Yamagishi, in October 2015.

The sake pairing for dinner is supervised by Keita Akaboshi, a world-renowned sake sommelier.

At ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu, we go above and beyond simple food and sake pairings, instead offering a "tripling" theme. Our refined cuisine and delicious sake pairings are served together with a third element - beautiful tableware - to create the ultimate immersive dining experience for all five senses.

Akaboshi Keita
After graduating from high school and falling in love with the world of wine, Akaboshi enrolled in a sommelier school and became a qualified wine and sake sommelier. He has been promoting sake in the U.S. for 16 years as an importer based in New York City, and has consulted on many sake and wine menus, including the selection of sake at the famous Empire Steak House. Since 2009, he has been at the forefront of promoting sake by producing Sake Bar KIRAKUYA and serving as a sake sommelier himself.
